Candidate LTE

As Your Next State Senator I Will Be Committed to Education

We must invest in public education if we want our kids to succeed. We must ensure that our schools are properly maintained and that our students are in buildings that are conducive to learning. I am committed to making sure our district is well represented and will work to make sure that the funding formula is fair and equitable.

I Am Committed to Working on Behalf of Senior Citizens

I will work hard to ensure our senior citizens are getting the care they deserve. I know how important it is to have access to information about support programs and services, public transportation that is professional and reliable, and policies that will help them stay in their homes as they age.

I Will Serve as your Senator with a Vision of Protecting and Conserving our Fragile Environment

I’m proud to accept the endorsements of Sierra Club and Clean Water Action because of my commitment to creating a sustainable and resilient Rhode Island. As a 4-year member of the Newport Energy and Environment Commission and Project Manager for the Newport Open Space Partnership, I have dealt with environmental issues first hand. I understand the expense of municipal waste management, the continued problems with street flooding and the cost of energy to cities, towns, and the state.

Letter to the Editor: Let's come together to find solutions to the challenges we face

When the District 13 Senate seat became vacant, I thought a lot about my connection and commitment to this community and what the vacancy meant for Jamestown and Newport. Unfortunately, we're at a point in time when politics have become bitter and divisive, with people feeling frustrated and disconnected from their government. As a woman who owns my own law practice and has been involved in local advocacy for years, I know we deserve better.
